After devoting 17 years to teaching Agriculture and Floral Design at the high school level and on the cusp of turning 40, I left the classroom, threw caution to the wind, and launched the wedding/event floral business I had talked about starting but didn’t because I feared failure and the unknown.

Why The Cocky Blossom? Agriculture has always been a cornerstone in my life; as the oldest of 3 daughters, my sisters and I were the sons Dad never had. We operated farm equipment, raised livestock to exhibit at the county fair, and each continued our journey in the agriculture industry through college and into adulthood. Over the years I grew to love chickens; primarily unique chickens. This led me to spending several years (and a stupid amount of money) collecting show quality Silkies. When I was trying to figure out a name for my business, my sister suggested The Cocky Blossom. It allowed me to include chickens in my logo, and is definitely memorable!

I pride myself in thinking outside the box, adding design twists to make an "on trend" idea truly unique, and strive to assist brides in achieving the wedding that is beyond their Pinterest dreams!
